Well I put on black leotard & tights & lacefront.. Then this girl was like "you need ears or something" so I grabbed devil's ears & voila! Ima damn devil.

I love how Sesame Street is teaching our young girls how to embrace & love their natural hair. The puppet wore SO many different styles. It's about time. Sad when little girls cry because their hair doesn't look like mommy's or Beyonce's. Ironically enough my cousin who has her natural hair flat ironed once a month hates her long hair. She often asks her mother if she can cut it. Mainly because everyone else in her class has short hair besides the white girls and she wants to let everyone know she's BLACK. Hmmm.. interesting.

Homecoming Hair

I was standing in line for the bathroom last night at some party (#SHSUHOMECOMING) and I saw like three girls with TWA's and another one with a fro an inch shorter than mine. She looks over at me & says "I like your hair". Now to ANYONE with natural hair this is the ULTIMATE compliment. Especially when you've been dying out to tell her "I like your hair too..". Instantly bonded. We discussed how long we've been natural. Her two year naturalversary is coming up in February. So cool because I got my last relaxer two years ago this month. ^_^. Our hair is basically the same length & a similar texture so it gave me reassurance that I have normal growth. I don't spend hours on my hair & I don't invest MUCHO dinero on it either. :)

Back to my hair. I've tried this new "style". Everyone knows how I LOVE my side bang. I wanted to rock an 'updo' of sorts since the blown out fro is a bit MUCH for everyone on a daily basis. Took about six bobby pins and pulled my hair up as far as it would go. Slightly slanted to the left. Voila! My signature style.

My 1,000th Post

I've been putting off writing this post because I was looking for something special to do to commemorate this day. Alas, I am here with nothing profound to say or a reason to hold the "contest" I thought of originally. I mean, no one seems to read blogs anymore. No one seems to care about my writing anymore. The only reason I seem to get hits is when someone googles something and stumble upon the name "Vividly Bland". I shouldn't care about views. I'm not getting paid to blog. I'm not getting anywhere near my ultimate goal. Vividly Bland isn't paying my bills. Seems pointless to try to make this into a career. I still love blogging and writing and voicing my opinion, I just don't have the same feelings about the blog. Twitter killed the blogger. This is so true. Tumblr as well. Anywho, this is the 1,000th post. I'm still thinking of how I can become closer to my dreams. If I have to write my ass off until the day I die, someone will hear what I have to say and I'm sure I'll make it MY way.

All Cried Out was one of my FAVORITE songs growing up. Of course I was amazed to find out that it was a cover by Allure featuring 112. Yes honey. All Cried Out was Originally performed by Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam featuring Full Force in 1986. I was just an egg in the fallopian tubes then. Personally I like the 1997 version by Allure better. I wonder if anyone else will try to redo it. I mean, it's been 24 years since the originally, 13 since the follow up. I think Bee Michelle can come up with her new version. Learned a stretching technique. Great if you're a lazy & remedial hair stylist like myself. Co-wash hair with hello hydration. Add your fave leave-in & detangle. Brush hair while still kinda wet into bun. I prefer high or mid bun. Let hair air dry for a couple of hours. Take hair down while its still a bit damp & spray S-curl spray. Finger comb & fluff all over. Hair should be stretched out. Add favorite headband & carry on. BAM. I think I'm fly. Therefor I am Fly.
